Description Frank Griffin 2015-09-01 21:57:55 CEST
On a fresh install with all desktops selected, including Plasma and Other, the chosen DM ends up being GDM and the list of available desktops in the login dropdown includes neither KDE nor Plasma.

Reproducible:

Can confirm.
Network graphical install failed, had to use text install.
Unselected all choices except Plasma and on the second boot (first one hang) got a xdm and logging in resulted an IceWM desktop.
Maybe the bug title should be corrected as Plasma is included during the install but not after the install in DM.

Sorry, forgot to mention, that although Plasma was selected during install, it did not get installed at all (not that it was just omitted in DM choices).
Had to install it afterwards with "urpmi task-plasma"...

That's exactly the problem. Once I installed task-plasma5, plasma was a choice in the GDM dropdown.

Summary: plasma not included in desktop selection list => task-plasma5 not installed even if plasma is selected during install

Tried to test it, but unfortunately there are problems with network installer currently:
1. Graphical installer fails to start at first - "No screens found" but after several minutes at last starts.
2. After disk configuration and before software selection screen an (approximate) error appears that "Basesystem is unable to install the following packages: adwaita-icon-theme due to missing... etc) and the installation process stops.
Comment 7 Nicolas Lécureuil 2015-09-28 01:09:55 CEST
should be working now.
Comment 8 Jüri Ivask 2015-09-28 12:25:19 CEST
Just made a fresh network install and yes - Plasma Workstation, when selected, was indeed installed and selectable in SDDM. There were installer problems (graphical installer fails to start at first - "No screens found" but after several minutes at last starts and several messages at the end of installation (ERROR: 'script' failed for) but yes, in principle - Plasma Desktop got installed.
