Description Ben McMonagle 2015-08-24 12:07:03 CEST
Description of problem: when system has been idle for some time and screen-saver has activated and turned off the display, moving the mouse or pressing a keyboard key brings up an "input password screen" to unlock the display. the correct number of characters are shown as entered, then "enter" pressed, the screen goes blank and then the same window reappears. control+alt+F2 brings up a tty, entering user and password is accepted and system can be rebooted from the tty.
this is not the xlock password entry GUI.

Ben, is it still valid with 1.10.2-1.mga6 ?

If it's still valid then would you mind to modify /etc/pam.d/mate-screensaver from:

> # Fedora Core
> auth include	system-auth
> auth optional pam_gnome_keyring.so
> account include	system-auth
> password include	system-auth
> session include	system-auth

to:

> # Fedora Core
> auth substack	system-auth
> auth optional pam_gnome_keyring.so
> account include	system-auth
> password include	system-auth
> session include	system-auth

and re-try?

I think this issue may related to #16825

It does not appear to be since last update - fixed by updating something?

closing for now.

thanks Atilla ÃNTAÅ for looking into this
