Description of problem: I'm using 3.19.8-desktop-3.mga5 as kernel and GeForce GTX 850M together with 4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller. I have disabled ACPI and installed bumblebee. Graphics works great with the highest resolution, but as soon as I changed to 2046x1536 and clicked to test it I end up seeing the results of the boot sequence of the kernel.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 1.16.4

How reproducible: 2 times so far.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Buy a Asus N550JK.
2. Install Mageia 5 and use automatic resolution with the highest bit setting.
3. In emergency mode do: urpmi bumblebee.
4. Reboot to GRUB menu and add noacpi to the kernel boot line.
5. Remove quiet splash from the kernel bootline and press F10 to boot the kernel.
3. Do not use Backports or Testing-medias.
4. Make sure you're fully updated.
5. Install KDE4, Gnome, Mate and Cinnamon.
6. Reboot and login to KDE4.
7. The desktop will crash.
8. Open drakconf and head to the screen settings to change the resolution to 2046x1536.
9. Test to see if it works!
10. Tada! KDE4 session vanished and all you get is the results of booting the kernel in front of you.

I have seen that x11-server has been updated to 1.17 according to their IRC channel topic. Is it therefor possible to backport it?

I'm NOT sure, but if I use the latest stable kernel compiled from kernel.org this issue doesn't exist anymore.

Driver related?

Anyway......can someone please push the 4.1.6 kernel from Updates Testing in Mageia 5 to Core Updates?

You do understand the purpose of the Updates Testing repo?... The kernel is there because it has to be... tested.

As I do not see this issue anymore with the 4.4.13-desktop-1.mga5 kernel I'm closing this as RESOLVED WORKSFORME.

Should anyone feel that this issue is still existing please feel free to REOPEN this report again.
