I have seen that x11-server has been updated to 1.17 according to their IRC channel topic. Is it therefor possible to backport it?

I'm NOT sure, but if I use the latest stable kernel compiled from kernel.org this issue doesn't exist anymore. Driver related? Anyway......can someone please push the 4.1.6 kernel from Updates Testing in Mageia 5 to Core Updates?

Using kernel 3.19.8 and changing from 3840x2180 to a lower resolution makes the X-server crash You do understand the purpose of the Updates Testing repo?... The kernel is there because it has to be... tested. As I do not see this issue anymore with the 4.4.13-desktop-1.mga5 kernel I'm closing this as RESOLVED WORKSFORME. Should anyone feel that this issue is still existing please feel free to REOPEN this report again. Status:
