Description Henri de Solages 2015-08-06 09:53:47 CEST
Description of problem:
When opening, in Dolphin, some folders mounted by NFS, they immediately disappear after their content appeared an instant, and they reappear when F5 (refresh) is clicked.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
4.14.3-1.mga5

How reproducible:
Often but it seems random to me although, during a given session, the concerned folders seem to be always concerned.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Mount some remote file system by NFS and . The line I use in /etc/autofs/auto.master is:
/-	auto.nfs
and lines in /etc/autofs/auto.nfs are like this one:
/mnt/Dell101 -fstype=nfs4	Dell101:/home

2. Open Dolphin.
3. In Dolphin, go to a subfolder of the mounted file system and click on it.

Result:
the said folder disappear from both the folder panel and from the main board of Dolphin, though its name appear in the breadcrumb trail (at the top), and the main board is emptied, after showing a brief instant the expected content.

Expected result: the content of the clicked folder should appear in the main board, and the name of the folder shouldn't disappear from the folder panel.

Notes: it seems that the problem doesn't appear for folders mounted by hand through /etc/fstab with these options:
Fiable:/home /mnt/Fiable nfs4 rw,users,exec,async,noauto

With the same autofs lines, I have not this problem in Mageia 4 (but I have an other one: sometimes Dolphin freezes). The NFS servers work with Mageia 4, and the client with Mageia 5. I have the problem with several servers. In the other direction (server working with Mageia 5, client with Mageia 4 and automounting the file systems), the problem never appears. If the same folders (which disappear when seen from Mageia 5 client) are seen from a Mageia 4 client automounting them, there is no problem either.

If I go to the said automounted folders by line commands (cd, ls), I have no problem: I can see the folder content.

In the "Steps to reproduce" above, a word disappeared (but this is not a bug, just a mistake": "Mount some remote file system by NFS and autofs.".

Precision: When pressing F5, the folder reappear, but not its content, and clicking on the folder makes it disappear again. This is why I consider this as a major bug.

The same problem appears in LibreOffice in the window opened by "File รข Open".

Hi Henri,

Thank you for having taken the needed time to report this issue!

We regret if this issue didn't get fixed.

Closing as OLD, because Mageia 5 has officially reached its End of Life on December 31st, 2017 https://blog.mageia.org/en/2017/11/07/mageia-5-eol-postponed/
It only continued to get important security updates since then, but non-security bugs have no chance of still getting fixed.

Marja
