Yes it is broken in Cauldron - the 'Documents' side tab that appears when files are open has not been displaying the file tree in a side panel for some time.
Clicking the tab does nothing. It works fine in Mageia 6.
I hope that the update candidate for Mga6 will not break that too.

The original bug has been fixed for some time.  It had to do with selecting a file from the dropdown on the top right.

The "Documents" side tab does indeed not work, but the file tree can be displayed using View -> Tool Views -> Show Documents

I have never seen that nor used it.

Which I suspect is exactly what the Documents side tab click should toggle, but is not doing. 

Thanks for pointing to the workaround it is really frustrating trying to work without that side panel being easily switched in/out.

Should we open a new bug report for the "document side tab" bug ?

Because the kate-17.12.2-1.mga6 package from the recent big mageia update has this problem. It worked fine before the big update.

The "side bar problem" also happens in kile, and probably every kde application using such side bars...

It appears that all panels buttons are dead.
Every button in left sidebar and every button in bottom one.

could you point to some documentation how to create an update package ?
there are many users suffering from this issue.

So fixed for mga6 in Core/Updates_testing repo with kwidgetsaddons-5.42.0-1.1.mga6

The conversion to new style connect introduced a bug. The old connect properly used the base class signal while the new connect connects to the derived signal which actually should be emitted as a result of the base class signal.
So this update fixes this regression in conversion to new style connect().

Tried this on both arches. 

Installed the latest kate, as it was not already installed. Ran kate, tried to use the Documents tab, with no response. Updated the above packages, then tried kate again. This time the tab opened the sidebar.

Looks good on both arches. Validating. Advisory in Comment 14.
