tablackwell indeed, and iirc it is was working previonsly (cauldron) Claire's qa comment was relevant - I'd forgotten to add vboxusers group in this one of several installations. After logging out, seem OK now. Download Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-4.2.28-97679.vbox-extpack from: https://virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads in a su terminal run command: VBoxManage extpack install Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-4.2.28-97679.vbox-extpack Add user to vboxusers Group Reboot system for good measure. Vbox client now can be assigned USB devices. RESOLVED What we really need here is vbox version 5 as it gets out of RC and as tmb has time. Current vbox doesn't support usb3 (version 5 does) which is now universal on new hardware. Correction: I'm wrong in the perspective what I just said; there is backwards support of USB2, but no support of USB3 devices. We still need version 5 for this. |
