Description Jerome Quelin 2011-06-05 21:02:59 CEST
updated laptop from mandriva 2010.2 to mageia 1, and now wifi doesn't work.
when creating a new wireless connection with drakconnect, it complains that it needs a file /lib/firmware/b43/ucode*.fw

i don't know which mdv package was shipping this file, so assigning to kernel for now.

Did you try dkms-broadcom-wl ?

Comment 2 Jerome Quelin 2011-06-06 12:51:54 CEST
yes, it's installed, and it wasn't working yesterday. but that's strange, now that i rebooted it, it works - while it wasn't working yesterday.
strange, since dkms is supposed to work at first boot? anyway, closing bug report as invalid. i'll reopen if needed.
