Description Kristoffer Grundström 2015-06-20 20:57:40 CEST
Description of problem: This needs to be included as Firefox in other systems has this added as standard.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 31.7.0

How reproducible: All the time.

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Open Firefox 31.7.0 and type about:config in the adressfield. Click to continue as it only gives you a warning that changes can make the browser stop working. This is NOT one of those cases as I've tested it myself.

2. Now click the search-field and type handler.expose

3. Rightclick in the empty space underneath and then choose New -> Boolean

4. Add the line network.protocol-handler.expose.magnet in the popup window and then click OK and choose to set the value to false. The Magnet link/s will now open a window for you to choose the proper torrent-client to download with.

Reproducible:

I forgot to mention that I was in Cinnamon when experiencing this issue.

This already works fine for me. I don't need a popup, I click a link and transmission starts downloading.

Yes, but if you choose to install KDE4 + Cinnamon it doesn't ask you which torrent client you want to use, instead it fails to open the link and gives me an error page telling me that Firefox doesn't understand hos to open magnet-links.
