Latest updates on BBC side require an update of get_iplayer. Simple version update to 2.94. is sufficient as confirmed via forums.

2.94 has already been pushed to cauldron, now the mga5 update has also been submitted to core/updates_testing as get_iplayer-2.94-1.mga5


For the version update itself, this falls under the exception for online-bound services IMHO - without the version update this package is basically useless. 

Please test, should be sufficient to test playing anything from http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer but it seems this only works from the UK.
I tried via UK proxy and that does not seems to suffice.

x86_64 mga5 stable

Installed get_iplayer 2.90 then enabled updates testing and installed
get_iplayer-2.94-1.mga5.noarch.rpm.

$ get_iplayer > programmes

to obtain a readable list of available programmes.  Looked for index numbers for the Danish series Cordon, episodes 1 and 2.

$ get_iplayer modes=best --get 288 --force
$ get_iplayer modes=best --get 287 --force

These commands downloaded the required episodes as mp4 files at 1280x720.  These played fine in vlc.
