I found this bug listed https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=728692
which might have some meaning.
Might booting with acpi=no be worth a try?

There's not enough details about the actual bug.
Installer logs shows that:
- it did saw & set up the ethernet card.
- it did completed the installation

Status: NEW => RESOLVED
Resolution: (none) => OLD
