What ISO did you test? Can you clarify? The install did completed but then the installed OS failed to boot? If the install did NOT completed, please try again until you reach your error: - plug a USB key - go to console (alt+ctrl+F2) - run the "bug" command - attach (do not paste) to this bug report the "report.bug" file you'll found on your USB key If the install did finished, please attach your /root/drakx/report.bug.xz on the affected machine. normal Seven months later and still no reply to Thierry's questions. Also, with "This appears to be an equipment issue. This machine has numerous issues." the reporter of this bug may have meant that he thinks his hardware isn't good. Closing as OLD @ Rob: _Please_feel_free_to_reopen_ and provide the needed information: #1 the exact name of the iso you used #2 a more precise description of which installation steps worked and where it failed during install or after reboot. #3 for a NON-LIVE after reboot: ** as #4 plus ** give the command "cp /root/drakx/report.bug.xz USB/" #4 for both isos after reboot or for a LIVE iso during install: ** please try to switch to tty2 with "Alt+ctrl+F2" ** login as live (no password) ** give the command "su" ** give the command "journalctl > journalctl.txt" ** give the command "mkdir USB" ** insert a USB key and do "dmesg", at the end of the output you'll see whether the USBkey is /dev/sdb, /dev/sdc, /dev/sdd or etc., replace "X" below by what the real value should be ** give the command "cp journalctl.txt USB/" ** give the command "cp /var/log/Xorg.* USB/" ** give the command "umount USB" #4 for a NON-LIVE iso during install: ** please do as Thierry asked in comment 1 and attach the files to this bug report Status:

RESOLVED oops, forgot to give the command to mount the USB key: mount /dev/sdX1 USB (replace X by b, c , d or whatever it should be) |
