I had a look at the Fedora spec file for sagemath (a bit later than I announced), and it will be some serious work to import sagemath in Mageia (~600 MB of sources, tons of dependencies and 1300 lines of script in the spec file itself).

It would still be a nice addition to our distro, but it should be a joint effort in the Sciences/Engineering SIG. I'll try to get some help and work on it for mga6.

Assigning this package request to all packagers collectively. On a voluntary basis, one of them might want to integrate it to the distribution and maintain it for bug and security fixes.
