Description Len Lawrence 2015-04-18 15:43:15 CEST
Description of problem:
The graphics problem is revisiting bug #15179. During an install of the Dual DVD iso there is no offer to install the proprietary nvidia graphics driver (occasioned by space restraints according to the errata). Booting with kernel option xdriver=nouveau after install does not work. The system comes up with alternating RGB and black panels which is probably a test pattern for the monitor. An attempt to configure wifi during the configuration stage of the install failed for lack of:
/mnt/lib/firmware/iwlwifi-3945-2.ucode.
Reinstallation without configuring wifi and defining Xorg's nv for graphics fails during the initial reboot at the attempt to bring up the network (I believe). It cycles endlessly while looking for the firmware file noted above. Presumably this should time out and resume booting.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Dual DVD

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. boot Dual DVD iso on old (nvidia) hardware
2. Install system and configure nv graphics
3. Reboot

Anne could nonfree wifi firmware be added on dual?

It's a bit limited in use with no network available.

Yes, that covers my Dell laptop. Wifi is OK but I am assuming that there is no space for the older proprietary nvidia graphics drivers on dual. As long as vesa works they can be added afterwards.
