Panel OK at the bottom.

Problem: KDE panel is not redrawn correctly after being moved to left edge (please see attached pics).

Steps to reproduce:

1. In KDE's System Settings, select "Desktop Appearance" and then "Desktop Theme"
2. Select the Air for Netbooks theme.
3. Click on the cashew and unlock widgets.
4. Click on the panel's cashew and drag panel to left edge.
5. Adjust panel size with sliders at the top and bottom in such a way it becomes more or less 80% of screen height.
6. Drag panel to (horizontal) bottom of the screen and back to left edge.

Result: (see attachment, please)

Expected: panel with icons.

Notes:

1) The problem seemed to occur also with the Air theme, on a second time I wasn't able to reproduce the bug with that theme. With Air for Netbooks, the problem occurred everytime.

2) The bug does not occur with the Oxygen theme (is it a theme definition problem?)

Some additional observations:

- In step 5 (five), it is not necessary to adjust both ends of the panel: just moving up the lower extremity is enough for the problem to appear and
- After step 6, when the panel is messed up just like the attached picture shows, just restoring the panel to 100% of the screen height solves the problem (all icons return).

Though the above might be seen as a workaround, I'd like to mention the adjustment in size of the panel is useful in my use case: I use the panel in auto-hide mode and the size is adjusted so as not to cover both the Firefox toolbars on the top and the "search in page" line an the bottom (press Ctrl-F in Firefox to make it appear).

More info:

In the last 2-3 days I added other themes.

As of today, none of Aya, Diamond, Elegance, Tibanna and Velours3 present the bug.

When the bug is triggered by the use of Air for Netbooks, merely applying the Oxygen or Velours3 themes fixes the problem instantly.

Not so with Aya, Diamond, Tibanna; applying these themes cannot fix the bug (but as stated when using them I was unable to cause the problem).

I managed to reproduce the present bug in Mageia 4 with the theme "Air for netbooks".

Hence, I updated the Whiteboard field to include MGA4TOO.

Others aspects like theme variations were not tried.

This is a problem with reduced impact (only happens in special conditions with a particular theme), it maybe UPSTREAM (though I didn't test it in other distributions) and does not affect users of others DEs -- it's KDE only.

I'm reassessing its priority and severity, specially considering other KDE themes work flawlessly.

Feel free to revert my changes if they're uncalled for.

Thanks.

I tried to test this bug in another (KDE-based) distribution.

Surprisingly, the "Air for netbooks" theme is not installed by default nor it is available from the "Get more themes" function in theme configuration.

Apparently the theme has been deprecated.

Therefore, I guess it's reasonable to close this bug as WONTFIX. Please feel free to undo that if there's a way to solve it.
