Description Timothée Giet 2011-06-03 12:10:00 CEST
Description of problem:
I've 2 wifi devices, none is working.
Both have open-source drivers.

First, the wifi integrated in my laptop (HP dv7-3145ef - wifi BCM43225)
is listed in my networks, but no "wlan0" on the right.
And if I click on it, I've a pop-up saying (in french, as I am) "Impossible de trouver l'interface réseau pour le périphérique sélectionné (utilisation du pilote bcrm80211)."
So I can't connect with it.

Then I've a TP-Link TL-WN727N, when I connect it is listed in the networks, it has "wlan0" on the right, but it doesn't see anything, clicking "rafraichir"
has no effect.
I know this one works on Ubuntu, just have to blacklist some other drivers there to get it working, but I don't know how to blacklist drivers on Mageia (no /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf ?), so it may be this.

This might be have missing firmware, so add online medias and install kernel-firmware-extra.

You can add the file yourself and it will be used.

Yeah! Thank-you for the tip!
indeed the bcm43225 only needed kernel-firmware-extra to work.

(Sorry to have reported a bug, I should have asked in the forum... You can close it, although I didn't re-test the TP-Link with added blacklist.conf, but it should work.)
