To better promote Mageia in Russia need a multi-protocol client that supports not only the basic (ICQ, Jabber, IRC), but some of the popular Russian projects (Mail.ru, VKontakte).

If someone feels the need for these packages now - my friend did RPM. They are available here: http://mageia.hut1.ru/i586.html or on the mirror: http://archive.nvteh.ru/mageia/i586/

Is there a possibility for your friend to join the packaging/development team? http://www.mageia.org/wiki/doku.php?id=packaging
It would be nice to have those packages in the official Mageia repositories and he could be the maintainer.

set version to cauldron, because package requests will usually be done for cauldron first and then be available in next stable release

The sentence I wrote in comment 5, can be explained in two ways, what I meant is: 
package requests will usually be done for cauldron first and are then expected to be available in the first stable release that follows.

So you might still have to wait long :(
