Description Sandro kensan 2015-02-25 21:57:20 CET
Internet keys 3G and 4G are a commons way to connect to Internet so I aspect to find the necessary packets in mageia 4 64 bit ISO DVD or USB flash memory with https://www.mageia.org/en/downloads/.

I dont' find ppp ppp-2.4.5-17.1.mga4.x86_64.rpm in my mageia 4 ISO that download a year ago. Also in mageia 3 ISO or LIVE ppp lacks too. So I suppose that Who use the Internet via 3G/4G dongle is not considered from mageia staff.

Could you add ppp packet to mageia 4 ISO or Mageia 5 ISO?

according to grep ppp /media/data/iso/Linux/mga4-2/*/*.idx *.lst
and grep ppp /media/data/iso/Linux/mga5/*/*.idx *.lst
=>ppp-2.4.5-17.mga4, ppp-2.4.7-6.mga5

they are/were here, you can check yourself browsing mirror http://mirrors.kernel.org/mageia/iso/

but maybe indeed it was fixed in mga4.1 released in june

closing as wontfix (for old iso)

The packet ppp is in mageia 4 and mageia 3 ISO but... I have make a new installation in a P4 64 bit right now and at the end I have try to make the Internet connection via a 3G dongle. I have used the MCC to setup the 3G and the MCC say me the lack of (ppp, comgt). So I have manually installed the packet:

ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/mageia/distrib/4/x86_64/media/core/updates/ppp-2.4.5-17.1.mga4.x86_64.rpm

And I have retry the setup via MCC and all gone fine. So I suppose there is a bug somewhere.
