CC'ing Jani and Florian since you're using xscreensaver too for XFCE and LXQt IIRC. CC:

doktor5000, jani.valimaa Personally I'm not using xscreensaver. Are you hitting /etc/shadow file permissions bug (bug 14516 and bug 14194)?

LXQt: Can't unlock screensaver (password not recognized) (In reply to Jani Välimaa from comment #2) > Are you hitting /etc/shadow file permissions bug (bug 14516 and bug 14194)? That would also be my guess. For the mga5 VM which I've installed from scratch they run xscreensaver and unlocking works fine there, so it's not a general bug. Assignee:

Yep, it seems it's yet another /etc/shadow issue: $ ll /etc/shadow ---------- 1 root root 1275 févr. 25 11:05 /etc/shadow I updated to cauldron shortly after mga4 was released, so I probably don't benefit from some packaging changes that fixed this issue in the current Mageia 5 (and hopefully for upgrades). I checked a Mageia 5 beta 3 VM and the permissions of /etc/shadow are correct, so closing as INVALID. Closing then, it's just my box that drank too much bugs from this long-boiling cauldron :) Status:
