Hi Nicolas and Luc, maybe am I just missing some KDE4 environment variable here in my Plasma 5 desktop?
Thanks.

Just a "shot in the dark" - do you have a package "kde-cli-tools" installed?

Confirmed with Mageia 5 cauldron fully updated. It is impossible to create a new bibtex database

Installing lib64kbibtex-devel has solved the issue, so it might me some kind of packaging issue?

My tests were performed on KDE 4, not 5 as in this bug report.
Comment 7 Filipe Saraiva 2015-04-22 12:29:19 CEST
+1, lib64kbibtex-devel install fix the problem.

+1, one year later, installing lib64kbibtex-devel install fixes again the problem.
On Mageia5.

Seems to be fixed in Mageia 6 sta1. I just installed kbibtex and it worked perfectly, using LiveDVD Plasma desktop.

As per comment 9, it's fixed in Mageia 6. Mageia 5 is end of support, so closing
the bug as fixed.
