Description Bjarne Thomsen 2015-01-18 11:53:46 CET
Description of problem:
I installed Fedora-21 from an USB dvd-reader on Dell Latitude E7440
in UEFI mode. I now wish to run Mageia-5 from the DVD in UEFI-mode.
This is, unfortunately, more difficult than expected.
By pressing F12 i get the boot options:
Fedora
slim-line DVD (or something like that)
Samsung SSD harddisk

When I press enter for slim-line DVD it goes on to boot from the SSD.
It looks like it will only boot from a DVD labeled Fedora.
The Mandriva label does not show in the boot option.

I have tried another DVD reader with the same result.
The screen goes between black and dark-gray several
times untill it gives up and boots from the internal disk.

Actually, I would consider it extremely unsafe if live system
could be running on a USB-port on the box with my secure HD.

Not an issue in the ISOs as far as I understand, but rather related to your UEFI firmware.
