Yes, NVIDIA Quadro FX 4000. This is likely a known issue where occasionally depmod isn't being run. Boot into the working kernel and run "depmod -a" as root, then see if it works. I did so then restarted with the kernel...27... twice. First time all looks fine until: [ OK ] Reached target Graphical Interface. Second time all looks fine until: [ OK ] Started Authorization Manager. Then the cursor is just blinking and the only thing to do is to enter ctrl-alt-del to restart.
