Description james Whitby 2015-01-11 02:11:55 CET
My site was down for a couple of hours ( mageia.jameswhitby.net ). When I attemptted to update the mirror site I encountered the following:

Http worked find; FTP worked fine; Rsync produces the following error.

(Using rsync://mageia.jameswhitby.net/mageia/)

Internal Server Error

"The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, root@localhost and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache/2.2.23 (Mageia/PREFORK-1.mga1) Server at mirrors.mageia.org Port 443"

Shouldn't someone change the mail address root@localhost to something reasonable?

I have had to do all of this a couple of days or so ago and had no promblems updating all protocals.

Thanks
Jim

From apperances, there is a conflict if ipv6 and v4 are available on the end site.
If there is a firewall blocking ipv6, but not ipv4. Why this produces the error I have no idea.

This did occur here. For some reason shorewall6 had been turned on during a reboot, when it shouldn't have been,

I will monitor the circumstances here to try and find out why.

Sorry for all the noise.
