(none) @ Thierry Rouillon Is this bug still valid? Keywords:
(none) =>
NEEDINFO We have reported this bug upstream. https://sourceforge.net/p/gscan2pdf/bugs/230/ But it seems that the bug comes from or libs. David said: "I found something in our "perl-Locale-gettext" package: http://svnweb.mageia.org/packages/cauldron/perl-Locale-gettext/current/SOURCES/gettext-1.05-SvUTF8_on-on-strings-when-bind_textdomain_codeset-utf8.patch?revision=389214&view=markup If I remove this patch so gscan2pdf displays properly accented characters but we can't remove this patch as we need it for some other packages like "urpmi"." (none) Assigning to QA, Advisory: ============================= Some users reported that our current gscan2pdf package does not displays properly the accented characters due to an UTF-8 issue (e.g. for French users), so this update fixes this issue and also updates gscan2pdf to a version which is supported upstream. geiger.david68210 Tested in a 64 bits Mageia 5 installation on real hardware. I installed the previous version and I saw the glitches. Updated to gscan2pdf-1.5.5-1.1.mga5 and the glitches are gone. However I do not have a scanner device, so I cannot test if the program scans. CC:

davidwhodgins MGA5-32 on AcerD620 Xfce in Dutch No installation issues. After fiddling with remote access to the scanner (Epson Prefection Photo 2400) on the desktop PC, I got gscan2pdf to scan a document and save the result as PDF. So combined with Comment 6, this should be OK CC:

herman.viaene MGA5-64 in French previous release was installed and suffers the glitches. After installing the new version, texts are displayed fine :) I can scan an image from webcam. My scanner is not in the list, but this is another story. Thus, I give a go.
