what do you see instead ?

Source RPM: grub2-efi-2.02-0.git9752.12.mga5, grub2-mageia-theme-2.02-0.git9752.12.mga5 => grub2

I see console blue grub2 menu. Grub is working.

Installing to a new system gives graphical grub2. There's a bug report about graphical menu not being updated after upgrade (bug 15992) but not about lost graphical menu.

Was probably a transient error. Closing as OLD.

diff of grub config

I found on recent update, that default config for grub has no theme specified. grub2-mageia-theme is installed.
