I saw that you posted this on the mailing list also, but unless I missed it, did you indicate somewhere *which* package update broke it? Nothing substantial has changed in the hplip package itself in months. After checking this more carefully - and tring different things like removing and reinstalling the printer - I decided to try somethign else - and rebooted the same machine into Windows (8.1) - it also didn't work - so it turned out to be the printer was acting strangely - after a restart of the MFP - things seemed to work once again . . . Sorry, my bad! But after seeing the errors above (including: error: This distro (i.e unknown 0.0) is either deprecated or not yet supported.) - I assumed there was an issue with the packages for HPLIP Hope this explains it . . . - I seem to be back in business and can print.
