doktor5000, lebarhon, marja11, yves.brungard_mageia Ahh and it should be added that this is the size only for the root ( / ) partition, not for the overall installation. 5GB for multiple partitions including swap would be a really bad idea. When we are speaking about minimal size, that imply only one partition and no swap. In this case 5 or 6 GB are enough. For a full setup, we must consider three partitions but only / and swap can be advised. /home is too different from an user to another one and is about the same for any os (free or not). I think also that some extra place is needed for updates from n to n+1 releases.
