Platform "all" is an assumption, but likely right one ;) Will check. Whiteboard:

5beta1 Looking at the punctuation, I think it's meant to mean something, but somehow written in the standard galactical alphabet? http://www.shikadi.net/keenwiki/Standard_Galactic_Alphabet is it still valid ? Tried here with a very slow connection to catch it but all was ok. It seems to me it was fixed in previous release (deprecated option in isolinux.conf) Yes I did see it with the last build of beta1 Seen again with gnome LiveDVD 64 bits built 11.12.2014. Whiteboard:

15527 Here's what Ady said yesterday about this bug in #mageia-bugsquad: 2016:09:12:17:46 < Ady> marja: I can confirm what I wrote here about https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14471 . The problem is in http://gitweb.mageia.org/software/build-system/draklive/tree/draklive?id=786171ebb7723a74b841f7c1c1457bd825783a16#n640 (the line is there since..., well, "forever"). 2016:09:12:17:48 < Ady> As I said, I do not know what is/was the intention of this line. From the POV of the resulting "boot/help.msg" file inside the LIVE DVD ISO images, that line is simply wrong. Whether it was intended to generate something else (too), I do not know / understand it. 2016:09:12:17:52 < Ady> The characters generated by 'pack("C*", 0x0E, 0x80, 0x03, 0x00, 0xC) . qq(' are incorrect for the msg file, so it shows the "gibberish". The only character from those that makes sense for this msg file is "0xC". Thanks, it would thus be a draklive issue actually and not a syslinux one then. As mentioned by Ady, this line has been there forever, I checked the first commit we have in the draklive repo (2007) and it's already there - so git history won't help here. CC:

It looks like some kind of display control sequence, but it's not anything described in http://www.syslinux.org/wiki/index.php?title=SYSLINUX#What_is_the_DISPLAY_File_Format.3F Maybe Mandriva had a patched version of syslinux that recognised other sequences? Anyway, it obviously doesn't work now, so let's remove it. CC:

mageia commit f8ff6cc7fc75bdb3369093f563b84a4fa5e2deb6
Author: Martin Whitaker <mageia@...>
Date: Sat Dec 17 16:57:42 2016 +0000
draklive: remove control characters from boot/help.msg (mga#14471).
This looks like it was intended to be a display control sequence, but
it doesn't work, and just results in display corruption.
