I have just installed MGA4-32 into a VirtualBox and It has just done as you say - from a clean install. I then de-selected all repos except core- release[ distrib 1 ], then ran urpmi --auto-update . then deselected core release I then reselected core -updates [ distrib-3 ], then ran urpmi --auto-update . then deselected core -updates repeated for non-free and then tainted. ran "mgaapplet-update-checker " as root - ok then re-enabled all required repos.
