misc I installed Mageia 1 on my desktop. The issue is the same and more. I can right or draw in gimp or inkscape or whatever, but if I touch a button on the tablet or the pen I get logged out. If I have the tablet plugged in when I start the computer, users disappear, only quest is still there, so I cant log in. When I unplug tablet and restart, users are there again and I am able to log in. It is very strange.

(Just to be sure it's related to wacomtablet package) (In reply to comment #0) > Description of problem:I am running mageia Rc1 in virtualbox on a x86-64 > system. I have an Graphic tablet CTH661. > When I log in I get the message âGraphic Tablet error Profile Default does not > existâ. > If I go to âSystem settings configure your desktopâ -Hardware-Input Devises and > click on the tablet icon, I get logged out and have to log in again. > I'm wondering if it's not linked to a crash of wacomtablet here. the 1.3.2 is out with a crash fix, i'll update it on cauldron as soon as possible (aka after the current perl update ) & push it as update for mageia 1 since there's a crash fix. Every thing seems to be alright without wacom tablet installed. So maybe it's related to the crash mentionned in the 1.3.2 changelog (i'm not able to reproduce here :/) I am able to reproduce the issue on Mageia 1 (KDE) here. It is suggested at wacomtablet's KDE-Apps page (http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/wacom+tablet?content=114856) to use a newer version of the wacom driver. As far as I can tell (I'm no expert) from my Xorg.0.log, the crash was caused by a segfault in the wacom driver. I suggest updating the wacom driver to see if this fixes the issue. CC:

X log form wacom crash
This is from the time I tried to use my finger (I think)
(In reply to comment #4) > So maybe it's related to the crash mentionned in the 1.3.2 changelog (i'm not > able to reproduce here :/) I've installed virtualbox again and tested wacomtablet version 1.3.2. So far it seems to work alright. I will test some more and let you know if I find some problems. Well, that is cauldron in virtualbox I forgot to tell. A package has been pushed for mageia 1 in core/updates_testing Could you test it & report here if the crash is fixed ? Version:

1 (In reply to comment #10) > A package has been pushed for mageia 1 in core/updates_testing > Could you test it & report here if the crash is fixed ? I will as soon as I can. (In reply to comment #10) > A package has been pushed for mageia 1 in core/updates_testing > Could you test it & report here if the crash is fixed ? I have now tried wacom 1.3.2 in mageia1. I'm very pleased, everything works as it should. However there is one issue. I can't start cauldron in virtualbox with wacom tablet plugged in. A black screen show up just before inlog screen and there it stops. I can start Fedora and open suse in virtualbox with tablet plugged in. If I unplug tablet and start cauldron then plug in tablet, it works perfectly. Maybe this little snippet from logfile in cauldron has something to do with it, I don't know. ### Program is starting ### running: dmidecode modified file /etc/sysconfig/harddrake2/kernel modified file /etc/sysconfig/harddrake2/xorg added MOUSE: |Wacom Bamboo Comic 2FG Finger running: usb_id /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:06.0/usb1/1-4/1-4:1.0/input/input4 running: usb_id /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:06.0/usb1/1-4/1-4:1.1/input/input6 configuring mice for evdev (0002:) running: usb_id /devices/platform/i8042/serio1/input/input1 input/by-id/usb--event-mouse missing running: usb_id /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:06.0/usb1/1-4/1-4:1.0/input/input4 running: usb_id /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:06.0/usb1/1-1/1-1:1.0/input/input5 running: usb_id /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:06.0/usb1/1-4/1-4:1.1/input/input6 running: usb_id /devices/platform/i8042/serio1/input/input1 input/by-id/usb--event-mouse missing modified file /etc/sysconfig/mouse removed files/directories /etc/X11/xinit.d/mouse_buttons removed files/directories /etc/X11/xinit.d/xpad modified file /etc/modprobe.conf to put in /etc/modprobe.preload evdev modified file /etc/modprobe.preload moved file /etc/X11/xorg.conf to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.old created file /etc/X11/xorg.conf created file /etc/sysconfig/harddrake2/previous_hw launched command: display_driver_helper --check-loaded [..]

This part is just another bug and should be reported in a specific bug (probably against virtualbox with more information like host & guest info, version of virtualbox used etc etc.Status:

ASSIGNED @ QA Could you please push this package to core/updates Proposal of Advisory: A crash of KDE can happens when configuring wacomtablet via systemsettings with for example a Graphic tablet CTH661 , this new package fix the crash. How to test ? it's quite difficult since i was not able to reproduce with my wacom tablet. However connecting a tablet & try to configure it via systemsettings could lead to a crash with the old package. Installing the package from core/updates_testing should fix this crash. Assignee:

This new package fixes the crash. BTW is there a better name for "systemsettings", an official name in plain english for this configuration tool ? CC:
