balcaen.john gstreamer. I guess I have all the plugins becouse my mageia was installed over mandriva. Anyway: $ rpm -qa |grep gstreamer gstreamer0.10-tools-0.10.32-1.mga1 lib64gstreamer0.10_0.10-0.10.32-1.mga1 gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly-0.10.16-3.mga1 gstreamer0.10-xvid-0.10.19-4plf2011.0 lib64gstreamermm0.10_2-0.10.7-1mdv2010.1 gstreamer0.10-soup-0.10.27-1.mga1 gstreamer0.10-plugins-good-0.10.27-1.mga1 lib64gstreamer-plugins-base0.10-0.10.32-1.mga1 gstreamer0.10-mms-0.10.21-2.mga1 gstreamer0.10-faac-0.10.19-4plf2011.0 libgstreamer0.10_0.10-0.10.32-1.mga1 gstreamer0.10-mpeg-0.10.16-3.mga1 gstreamer0.10-cdparanoia-0.10.32-1.mga1 phonon-gstreamer-4.4.4-1.mga1 gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3-0.10.10-69mib2010.0 libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-0.10.32-1.mga1 gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg-0.10.11-3.mga1 gstreamer0.10-faad-0.10.19-4plf2011.0 gstreamer0.10-twolame-0.10.16-3.mga1 gstreamer0.10-plugins-base-0.10.32-1.mga1 gstreamer0.10-x264-0.10.15-1plf2011.0 gstreamer0.10-flac-0.10.27-1.mga1 I don't use pulseaudio if it changes anything. Does the same issue happen in a new user account? Keywords:

NEEDINFO the worst thing is that it stopped to happen. It was not related to any sound rpm: it was happening yesterday, and today is ok. I've check which rpms were updated and it's only some meta-task, rpm, urpmi, wine some fonts etc stuff. The only extra rpm i've added was keychain, but i guess it's not related ? on new account it's ok. Now on mine: if I start firefox first, its ok. All firefox stuff (flash etc) may play music. I can run amarok and it's ok also. But if I run amarok first, then firefox has no voice, onloy a message in console: ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1018:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave

dmorganec It looks that the problem was in different order of sound devices in systemsettings/Multimedia for each group. I've set the same order for each one, and now it's ok. I don't know why did it change nor why the order was important... so i closed as works for you :) Status:
