Every so often (a few times per hour) my mouse will momentarily "freeze".
The following messages appear in syslog, indicating that the mouse
has disconnected and then immediately reconnected:

Sep 20 19:45:28 pingu kernel: usb 2-2: new full-speed USB device number 4 using uhci_hcd

Sep 20 19:46:03 pingu mtp-probe: bus: 2, device: 4 was not an MTP device

The problem seems to have started after a recent kernel update.

Problem turned out to be a fault in the mouse: fortunately it was still in warrenty (3 years warrenty) and Logitech replaced it with a new G402.
