As a workaround you can add some boot options on grub command line using NETPROFILE= on the commande line so you'll be able to choose your profile directly on grub. CC:

balcaen.john Thanks for the tip, John. I could also edit /sbin/netprofile to raise the timeout. But my remark was mainly to find a solution most suitable to beginners and, to me, what makes Mageia (like Mandriva) very user-friendly is its simple Control Centre (unlike opensuse YAST) and the ability to configure through it almost everything one may want to configure. It's true one may configure several grub entries through MCC for each profile, but it's a more complicated solution.

drakx-net I don't have a /bin/netprofile, but in /sbin/netprofile it is line 248 for me, and still 5 seconds. CC:

marja11 Hi, This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment. Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2. Thanks :) Cheers, marja Keywords:
