Xorg.0.log of failed NVidia boot

Mageia 3 64bits partion on this desktop:

After first updating glibc and then updating to:
- cpupower-3.10.54-2.mga3.x86_64
- kernel-desktop-3.10.54-2.mga3-1-1.mga3.x86_64
- kernel-desktop-devel-3.10.54-2.mga3-1-1.mga3.x86_64
- kernel-desktop-devel-latest-3.10.54-2.mga3.x86_64
- kernel-desktop-latest-3.10.54-2.mga3.x86_64

- nvidia-current-kernel-3.10.54-desktop-2.mga3-319.60-22.mga3.nonfree.x86_64

after reboot, using nvidia (like before the update) the system freezes completely, showing a Mageia background with some strange coloured artefacts. 

Switching to another tty doesn't work, however, rebooting with the alt+SysRq keycombinations does work.

After switching to nouveau booting into KDE works fine, everything looks OK, including full HD video.

journalctl output of frozen nvidia boot

I'm amazed to see in the journalctl output, that the system wasn't frozen at all: I just couldn't see a thing

otoh, normally when using the SysRq keys, that is visible in journalctl, isn't it?
I did not see that here!

kernel-server i586 works fine on my Dell Optiplex 990 at work, as well as in VMWare.

OK, this is weird.

both logs show both kernel part and xorg part is working so far, no indication of the error...

Can you ssh into that "frozen" system at all ?

Well, booting with NVidia doesn't give any problems now, and Xorg.0.log doesn't display weird "@@@@@" lines after "Enabling 2D acceleration" anymore, but normal lines.

I'll boot into it a few more times, to see whether it still freezes now and then, or not.

No, I can't reproduce it anymore.. sorry for having bothered you with it, Thomas!

I'll try NVIDIA with the new mga4 kernel too, maybe it works there just as well, now (I hadn't tried, because I had a similar problem as here with an older Mga4 kernel)

This kernel update provides an update based on upstream 
3.10.54 from the 3.10 -longterm branch. It also fixes the
following security issue:

The kvm_iommu_map_pages function in virt/kvm/iommu.c in the Linux
kernel through 3.16.1 miscalculates the number of pages during the
handling of a mapping failure, which allows guest OS users to (1)
cause a denial of service (host OS memory corruption) or possibly
have unspecified other impact by triggering a large gfn value or
(2) cause a denial of service (host OS memory consumption) by
triggering a small gfn value that leads to permanently pinned
pages. (CVE-2014-3601)
