Gnome, now, works on computer 1, but not on this computer 2.
For
Mageia 5, beta 2, LiveDVD, Gnome, 64bit
You start running the live media set up...
you set the key that will change your keyboard layout...
you press ok...
then the screen with the frown face appears...
clicking on log out button does nothing...
I had the same problem with the Mageia 5 beta 2 GNOME LiveDVD. The "pre-configuration wizard" crashes after selecting the keyboard map and the message "Oh no ! Something has gone wrong." appears. I selected French language, Zurich time zone and Swiss (French) keyboard map. Because of this I cannot test the GNOME LiveDVD. CC:

In my case, I tried with different options
(language, time, keyboard shortcut, anything other I don't remember now).
It always crashed.

I tried again. You're right, it crashes whatever you select. I hadn't tried whith other options. There's nothing more useless than a testing liveDVD that you can't use to test⦠Please file new bugs, that's easier. Could be a different issue. Colin: I guess this might be due to your changes? CC:

mageia, olav Nah doubt it's related to my changes. As I said in my post on the list I was getting this all the time while testing in virtualbox. When it happens, switch to the terminal and login as root (no passwd) then type "journalctl /usr/bin/Xorg | grep EE" to see the errors. There will likely be some about dri perms which I think is a red herring but the real issue should show up. Gonna guess a problem GLX and swrast. Undefined symbol while dlopen'ing. Still there in Mageia 5, beta 3, Gnome Live DVD, 64bit. Now, before it gives you the smiling face, a message appears (from Mageia) about going to console and trying to fix the graphics configuration. (Of course, you can't "fix" anything. The problem isn't there with KDE. So, it's, most likely a Gnome issue.)
