Description Carolyn Rowse 2014-08-28 20:03:52 CEST
Description of problem:
I installed 5 alpha 2 on my PC from the dual ISO and started using it with the Xfce DE provided. I then decided to try out Lxqt and installed that, and when I logged in to that DE Mageia Welcome came up and it occurred to me that it didn't appear with Xfce.

With 5beta1, I've installed Mate and LXDE after completing installation from the dual ISO and Mageia Welcome does appear on logging in with LXDE but not with Mate.

Again neither or LXDE are provided by dual iso. It means something is missing as deps to get it up.

mageiawelcome is still not on the dual iso (not in Mageia-5-beta2-dual-DVD.idx)

@ ennael

You assigned back to bugsquad, was that intended?

Or can this bug be closed as WONTFIX, because dual users are generally advanced users, who won't need MageiaWelcome?

I did not close it as the point here is to install LxQT from remote repository. Is it intended not to have mageiawelcome? If not then it should be fixed as a dependancy

AFAICS from the description, installing LxQT went well and pulled in MageiaWelcome

If we want it, it only needs to be on the iso.

I just installed mageiawelcome on a 5beta2 dual 32bits install.

After logging out and back into XFCE, MageiaWelcome auto-starts

oops
and, yes, it should be installed, of course

The targeted users for the dual aren't newbies, but rather people running servers and such. They won't need MageiaWelcome

Closing as wontfix.

Feel free to disagree and reopen, though :-)
