is this still valid ? Indeed I dont have any sound and it worked fine when I installed Mageia - thanks for checking if you want me to run a series of test just provide me with the details. It says default sound output is HDMI, is that what you expect? If yes, use a mixer like xfce4-mixer to enable "IEC958" on the HDMI device. If no: if pulseaudio is used you can send sound to a different output (but I found this somewhat confusing in cauldron, needed to set a "profile" IIRC). If ALSA is used directly you can select a different output in the application (or change the default in your .asoundrc). CC:

Samuel thank you very much for following up on this but after that MAJOR bug I had no choice but to switch distros I am now on Ubuntu and works fine so please close the thread - bug report as i cannot follow up anymore Closing as OLD as per comment #5. Created attachment 5321 [details] Results of test After updates of packages sound that worked perfectly before no longer works i tried to run some tests uninstall and reinstall some packages double check sounds and no it doesnt work all seems ok but not sure if daemon is loaded correcly once again worked perfectly before computer in dual boot with Windows and works fine in Windows thus not mechanical problem i have included file. thank you.
