Every other bootable option was *showing* either sda8 or sda12 and there were about 24 or more. I didn't try booting anything except what I could be sure of on the basis of THAT menu and that was the installed mageia-5-a1 and then I reverted to my own grub menu immediately following Reproducible: Steps to Reproduce:
