Description Marc Lattemann 2014-06-30 00:41:06 CEST
If you are on the German website the wiki link of the navigation bar directs to https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Main_Page
The correct link for the German sub wiki would be https://wiki.mageia.org/de/Hauptseite

Would be nice if this could be corrected

I can't reproduce that.

You do have German set as a browsing language in your browser?

Can someone else confirm that?

I can reproduce here. Browsing to mageia.org/de and then clicking on "Wiki" leads to the English version of the wiki (the link is simply wiki.mageia.org, and it seems to redirect to the en/ subdomain).

That was on FF 30.0 on Windows with a French locale.

Maybe the redirection works if the browsing language in German, but I think one would expect that if you browse to mageia.org/de with another browsing language, all links should point you to German resources when they exist, independently of your choice of browsing language.

It is hardcoded to point to wiki.mageia.org, no ideas where is set the auto redirection to /de

http://gitweb.mageia.org/web/nav/tree/lib.php#n271

we can add it in pot, but it's not so great

It comes from:
http://svnweb.mageia.org/adm/puppet/deployment/wikis/templates/wiki_vhost.conf?revision=2089&view=markup

as the wiki link only points to wiki.mageia.org, it triggers:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^/?$ /en/ [R]

Now, I'm not sure there is a point in burning too much energy on this as there is a new wiki on the way during this summer

As a temporary workaround why not adding a link. Anyone who want could link to other language wiki. And those that don't want they can leave as is.

Or we just wait the new wiki as Thomas wrote.

Ok, I thought this would be only updating an existing link. Since I am the first user experiencing (or better reporting) this I would agree to Thomas

This is also not only true for German:
Interestingly I have in the top right corner a drop-down menu where I can select languages. Only on the wiki tab this drop-down menu is not present. Changing to another language it works until I select wiki, where it shows in English and moving forwards to a different tab it will be German again independent of the prior selected language (maybe due to my locale settings?)

The same behaviour is present at 'You' tab (https://identity.mageia.org/) the drop-down menu is missing.

I don't have much knowledge about PHP but if I look at the code linked in Comment #5 for both tab entries the '//$S/$L' entries in the array (lines 266 - 277) are missing whereas for all other tabs this part of code is present...
Comment 10 Manuel Hiebel 2014-06-30 19:41:39 CEST
Drop-down menu is only available for the mageia web page made with php and by us and that don't use nav.mageia.org.

So treasurer, wiki, identity, bugzilla, forums, etc. don't have it.

french and german instance are now directly available from navbar
(using comment 5 & 7)
