Hello,

When I install Mageia on my laptop, I am confronted with one 
Serieux problem of display.

I possess one Ati Mobility Radeon HD 3650.

I installed the last one Iso of Mageia, the MD5 is good, partition root and home are formated, everything takes place with no problem at all and my system has to restart.

When I reboot my laptop starts safe mode automatically and at the end of 10 seconds, when that he detecte my graphics board (Radeon / vesa ) the laptop crash and I have a display posting for described in it post.(Photos)

Please take a look at bug 1471. I'm not sure if it is the same problem you have (sorry, I can't read French well enough to follow the forum discussion you link to) - but you could try the workround I give to see if it fixes your problem as well.
