Description Bert Aerts 2011-05-20 08:54:08 CEST
I have Mageia 1 beta 2 x86_64 with all updates till 20.0830may2011.

If I resize a terminal window, the terminal remains transparant, mouse freezes for a minute, keyboard is non functional, mouse pointer becomes movable again, but mouse buttons are non functional. KDE is completely frozen. Power button press for 5 seconds to reboot is the only option.

I repeated this experiment 3 times, 3 times same behaviour.

I can resize Amarok window and Firefox window. Problem is only with terminal window.

I Think it`s a problem with KDE and enabled compiz.
There a some threads in the mageia forum.

I have no 3D effects like Compiz.
I only have KDE desktop effects.
I have nVIDIA with proprietary drivers.
Comment 3 John Balcaen 2011-05-20 12:11:48 CEST
It's due to the conjonction of nvidia,3d effects & xorg 1.10
You should disabled desktop effects until nvidia can fix their drivers.
