Description Pavel Kreuzt 2014-05-23 10:31:42 CEST
Description of problem: Launching the game from console doesn't show any error, menu and tips of the day are displayed correctly, but once the game starts the texts like descriptions or story aren't displayed. Only the corresponding "tag" is shown. For example, in the intro sequence you see "intro_sentence1", "intro_sentence2", and so on. Not even mission or research descriptions. Launching from console doesn't complain about any missing file or error.

That is a known upstream error, one that is unlikely to get fixed. You need to launch with a specific command line switch: "ufo +set fs_i18ndir /usr/share/locale". The menu entry have the apropriate command switch.
