Description Barry Jackson 2011-05-18 19:42:27 CEST
Description of problem:
After installing kdenlive in gnome the GUI is broken due to missing oxygen-icon-theme components.
oxygen-icon-theme should be a dependency of kdenlive for the default theme to work.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install kdenlive in Gnome
2.Run from terminal
3.Errors about missing oxygen icons and missing play buttons etc in GUI.
4.Install oxygen-icon-theme and GUI is OK and no errors in terminal.

Hmm, only a suggests not requires; if you change the icon theme used by KDE, either via systemsettings or be editing ~/.kde4/share/config/kdeglabls to use e.g. gnome, it'll work:
[Icons]
Theme=gnome

Fixed in SVN.

Not sure I follow.
In this installation I only have Gnome DE.
Installing Kdenlive pulls in some neccessary kde bits, but it is broken due to the missing graphics, so it surely must be more than suggests?
Comment 4 Ahmad Samir 2011-05-18 23:16:09 CEST
If you edit ~/.kde4/share/config/kdeglabls and change the icon theme used by kde to gnome icon theme, it'll work with kdenlive, there're freedesktop.org specifications about naming icons and most icon themes do try following it.

Also the oxygen-icon-theme package is 25MB+...

OK thanks - now I follow - I was not expecting to find a .kde4 in a purely Gnome installation.
Removing oxygen-icon-theme and adding the above to
~/.kde4/share/config/kdeglobals (I guess your typo was just to confuse me ;-)
....fixes it without that 25MB.
Do you have a link to what you did in SVN just out of interest?

@ Ahmad - O.T.
gnome system -> preferences -> sound hangs for ever with a "Waiting for sound system to respond" dialog if PA is disabled. There is a cancel button. Is this worth a bug report?
Comment 6 Ahmad Samir 2011-05-19 00:18:29 CEST
Sorry about the typo, totally unintentional :/

About PA, no it's not a bug, PA was integrated with the gnome sound stuff, so no PA means you can't use gnome system -> preferences -> sound, or have the default gnome sound icon in the system tray...
