The new virt-manager-1.0.x supports making snapshots from within the GUI with qcow2 images which is a great usability improvement.

I try in Mageia 4 32 bits (virutalbox)

Arnaud it appears that you didn't start libvirtd service before using virt-manager (# service libvirtd start). Does the issue remain if you do?

This should really be a backport, unless there are other reasons for the version bump in updates. Please note though that backports are currently affected by bug 12766.

Testing it though, it has issues. It has moved menu position from emulators to system tools. When started it pops open a window which says /usr/bin/python2 wants to install qemu and libvirt-utils. Cancelling that request, when using ctrl + alt to release the mouse it's then unable to grab it again.

I don't think this is suitable as an update, useful as it is to have the snapshot feature. Adding feedback marker.

The usbredir-0.6-1.mga4 and qemu-1.6.2-1.1.mga4 packages made it anyway. 
Since I don't use mga4 anymore I have no need to fix this. Closing.
