Description of problem:
The cdo packages is not present in Mageia repositories.


The package doesn't exists in: Mandriva in any version.
Exists in OpenSUSE and Fedora, and also in Debian based linux as .deb package.

Climate Data Operators are a collection of command line Operators
to manipulate and analyse Climate model Data.  Supported data formats are GRIB,
netCDF, SERVICE, EXTRA and IEG. There are more than 400 operators available.

I need this software because is part of the scientific tools that I use in everyday work for processing netCDF files.

It no longer exist in Fedora :

Yes, I managed to build from source under Mageia 4. 

I download the source from: https://code.zmaw.de/attachments/download/7220/cdo-1.6.3.tar.gz 

Follow the instructions to compile. They are:

./configure
make && make install

I compiled as root to a folder in my home, and added to my path in .bashrc.

After that, I got this:

[ovel@predator ~]$ cdo -V

The binary is there, but I'm having problems with the grib support. I got the error: GRIB_API support not compiled in!! 

I'm still working... :)

BugSquad has too few active members to take proper care of package requests, so we need to ask you to check some things yourself.

Please check in http://madb.mageia.org/ whether this package was already imported in cauldron, or whether there's another package with the same functionality that you can use.

If so, then please close this bug report, or, if the package isn't available in Mageia 5, change this report into a backport request.

If it is not available in cauldron, and there is no alternative that you can use, then please confirm that you still need this software.
