Description of problem:
When I configure my videocard using XFdrake, it by default selects radeonhd driver instead of ati. Also, when I install system, it is selected by default. This also was in the Mandriva. radeonhd is obsolete, it has very poor performance. In Beta 1 launching Firefox with this driver crashes X. In Beta 2 X even not start after installation, as I remember, because of lack of KMS support in this driver.
So, it should be ati by default.

Decided to try Mageia 2 Beta (as an old Mandrake user and I think Mageia is closest to how I think a distro should be). First issue after installing is that during boot process I get a massive list of messages, apparently never-ending... hitting esc stops the messages and gets me finally properly booted into Mageia.

I have a "RS780D [Radeon HD 3300]" integrated display driver.

I think my problem could be related to this bug as I find e.g. in /var/log/dmesg:

This bug was filed against cauldron, but we do not have cauldron at the moment.

Please report whether this bug is still valid for Mageia 2.
