Can somebody build 0 A.D newest alpha version ?,game is still in alpha stage so it will be good to provide newest alpha version to mageia stable release.

FYI, 0ad is already in cauldron for a week.
I will add it to 4.
But why not adding it in update testing like each time I did for 0ad?
It's an alpha release so I think, like other alpha software, it's better to continue adding it to updates and not to backport.

I request it to backported because i did not know that alpha stage program/games can have new features and still pushed to updates testing. But anyway thx for building it.

I think qa team is very busy with this time because they are working with mageia 4.1 so we need to just wait.

It seems that 0ad alpha 15 needs libary what does not exist in mageia 4,so need to backport first lib(64)gloox11 from cauldron and then can build it to testing or backports.

If a dependency for 0.AD is in 4/core/backports, 0.AD 0.15 should not be included in 4/core/updates because there's a risk for user not to understand from where the problem comes. He will not obviously understand that he will have to enable 4/core/backports.
With this problem, 0.AD can not be included in 4/core/updates.

Oh yes perfect answer :) backports are closed because of bug so nothing can be done now,i hope it will be fixed soon as possible.

- 0ad-data-0.0.15-0.alpha.1.1.mga4
from 4/core/updates_testing.

Like 0ad updates in the past, it won't be a backport as 0ad is "unstable", changelog worth update request. Like other alpha/beta packages.

0.AD 0.16 is about to be released in less than a month, so before pushing 0.AD 0.15 to 4/core/updates, please consider this new detail. I don't think it's a good idea to push two major updates like 0.AD (more than a Go) with such a short interval.

Anyway, 0.AD 0.15 works properly on my setup.

Hi all,

Alpha 16 has been released two weeks ago and is already available in Cauldron.
Unfortunately, it is not really possible to install those mga5 packages on a mga4 install because of the required dependencies.

Alpha 16 has the great new feature to be localized, thus to be playable in French.

It would be really great to have Alpha 16 available for Mageia 4.

I am happy to try it out on testing: I have 3 different mga boxes at home, one 32 arch and two x64 arch.

If you cannot wait until it will be build to mageia 4 updates testing,you need to install from cauldron lib64mozjs24 and from 4 core updates testing lib64gloox11.

However, there are many more packages you need to update from cauldron (icu, libboost_filesystem, lib64boost, etc).

It is probably not a good idea to install the mga5 version of 0AD on a stable mga4 :)

Or try this one is portable version of 0ad to linux,it says it's for arch but you can install it to mageia too.

Can somebody build that alpha 17 to mageia 4 ? i don't have heard anything from dams so he is not around to build it.

Taken over this bug report since I'm the new 0 A.D. maintainer. Even if we did it in the past, I think that pushing 0 A.D. as an update is against our update policy. Or we should decide on an exception for "alpha" software, but there are lots of alpha stuff in Mageia 4 that could justify an update then.

For now I'll go through the backports media, and try to get things moving on that side to actually have the possibility to push backports.

Yes it's against our policy of updates and i still against to push it to updates. I first added this to backports request but dams was that who get it to pushed to updates not backports.

It seems we won't get backports for Mageia 4 until at least the Mageia 5 release, and then I will personally be reluctant to do backports to Mageia 4 + Mageia 5 (most users who would benefit from backports to get the newest packages would probably upgrade to Mageia 5 as soon as it's released).

So, closing as WONTFIX.
