Description Robert Ottlovich 2014-02-02 00:09:40 CET
Description of problem:
Not a single password manager window turns up when I start application with root privilege.

First case with drakconf and when I wanted to install a simple rpm file.

I installed only Mate and LXDE. The problem occurs in both gui-s.

The only window informs me that it cannot be run because of a problem and just submit the problem to the bug reporting.

Occurs: everytime.

Oh yes:

$ rpm -qa | grep polkit
gksu-polkit-0.0.3-0.git20131130.9.mga4
mate-polkit-1.6.1-2.mga4
polkit-desktop-policy-0.112-2.mga4
lib64polkit1_0-0.112-2.mga4
lib64gksu-polkit0-0.0.3-0.git20131130.9.mga4
polkit-kde-agent-1-0.99.0-6.mga4
lib64mate-polkit1_0-1.6.1-2.mga4
polkit-0.112-2.mga4
lib64polkit-qt-agent-1_1-0.103.0-3.mga4
lib64polkit-qt-core-1_1-0.103.0-3.mga4

Polkit run as daemon with system start and is still running.

Authentication message comes in CLI.

By the way. When I run Krusader (blue) and run in root (red icon), the password manager window (KDE su: /usr/lib64/kde4/libexec/kdesu) comes up. Extremely interesting.

I don't know what to check more then.

I now know.
I'm afraid Mageia 3 contains bad settings in a .desktop file in ~/.config/autostart and/or MATE and LXDE startup settings hit each others'.
