Well this is baffling. I rebooted and it seems to be behaving properly now. NO updates were installed, so I have no explanation for this After rebooting I see this:
cpupower frequency-info
analyzing CPU 0:
driver: acpi-cpufreq
CPUs which run at the same hardware frequency: 0
CPUs which need to have their frequency coordinated by software: 0
hardware limits: 800 MHz - 1.60 GHz
available frequency steps: 1.60 GHz, 1.28 GHz, 800 MHz
available cpufreq governors: ondemand, userspace, performance
current policy: frequency should be within 800 MHz and 1.60 GHz.
The governor "performance" may decide which speed to use
within this range.
current CPU frequency is 1.60 GHz (asserted by call to hardware).

thierry.vignaud, tmb I cannot reproduce this. I thought perhaps I had accidentally booted ito a previous kernel version, but I tried that and still did not see the problem. So, I guess it is pointless to keep this bug report open? Cannot duplicate the problem. Closing ticket. Status:

Description of problem: Laptop seemed slow, I saw that frequency was stable at 1.28 GHz. It never gets to top speed of 1.6G regardless of cpu load or governor. Not certain if this report should be filed against kernel or other package? I did not experience this problem with mageia 3.
