Description Frank Bell 2014-01-23 19:48:12 CET
Description of problem:

Printing to HP OfficeJet L7680 prints printer control string, not document. This has occurred whether I install the printer directly through CUPS or using hp-toolbox. Printing test page or document produces PCL characters at the top of a sheet of paper; the actual document does not print.

I have successfully installed the same printer to two VMs (PCLinuxOS and OpenSuse) running on the Mageia machine and can print from them. Printer has worked flawlessly with Slackware, Debian, Mint, Fedora, and Windows.

Logs in /var/log/cups show that cups thinks the print job printed successfully. Here is a typical line from the access log

"localhost - - [11/Oct/2013:14:44:19 -0400] "POST /printers/HP-Officejet-Pro-l7600 HTTP/1.1" 200 437 Print-Job successful-ok"

All current Mageia updates have been installed.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Name : cups-common
Version : 1.5.4
Release : 9.mga3
Architecture: i586

How reproducible:

I have repeated removed and reinstalled the printer using CUPS directly and using hp-setup and hp-toolbox with no change in performance.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install printer.
2. Print test page.

Note: This bug is not urgent for me, as I do not normally print from this computer, but, after being unable to figure it out, I thought I should tell you all. Thanks for a nice OS.
