Description of problem:

fornatting / with btrfs fails.

/dev/sda1 /boot  ext4 200MB
/dev/sda5 btrfs 16GB
/dev/sda6 swap 2048MB

(This occured in VirtualBox 4.2.6 )

Mageia 4 RC x86_64 LiveCD installer (sorry, just used the frontend)

With the Install DVD it works.

I can confirm this using a Mageia-4-RC-LiveDVD-KDE4-i586-DVD.iso

It is impossible to format any btrfs partition - the error message is:
error checking /dev/sdaX mount status

Happens when booted to the live session and using installer there or when booted directly to the live installer

FWIW, worked fine for me with beta1 IIRC, brtfs for / and for /home, but also bad blocks not enabled (it's not the default) - no issues then ...
